Keith Mitchell joined the Grand Hotel in 1989 when he was appointed Head Chef of the newly opened Mirabelle Restaurant. It was under his leadership the hotel was awarded the 2AA Rosettes and Good Food Guide Entry. Both of which we still hold proud today.
Keith Mitchell is now our Executive Head Chef overseeing all food outlets and of course the Garden Restaurant.
Starting out at the Ritz in London as 2nd Chef, Keith then moved to Sussex to open Horsted Place. He was awarded the 2AA Rosette status there too.
Keith is a former Captain of the British Team of Chefs and an International multi Gold medal winner. Another claim to fame being a former finalist and placed 2nd in the National Chef of the Year.
Since hanging up his 'competitive' boots Keith is now a judge for National and International culinary competitions and a particular favourite is his role as founding partner and Chairman of the Judges for the Eastbourne Young Chef of the Year Award (now in its 17th year).
