Well, it is that time of year again! And if, like me, you have maybe slightly overeaten, over indulged and have a waist that feels a little like Santa's now is the time to get back on track!
The trick is to have a goal to aim for! For me it's a Triathlon. I was training one of my Personal Training clients in the gym here at the Grand and we decided that we would both like to do two things this year. One was to get our 'Beach Bodies' so we can take our T-shirts off on the beach and not blush! And the other to complete a Triathlon.
To make sure we stick to it we were originally looking at the Sevenoaks Triathlon but unfortunately that was already full. So if anyone has any suggestions of a good Sprint Triathlon in Sussex, then please do let me know! But until one is found we have started planning our training for the coming several months. We are going to start slowly just training a few times a week and keep it changing. One session on the bike together with a gym workout, then the pool with a run before hand and so on. By doing this it keeps us fresh and motivated and ready to 'build it up'.
We will also be looking at our diets and ensure it has the correct balance of nutrients. All of these programmes and nutrition plans are done for you at the Club by your Personal Training should you be interested.
Anyway, I will keep you updated with our progess over the coming months and if you do have any Sprint Triathlon ideas, please do let me know. Just goes to say if you are now motivated to do something similar and you need help with motivation/training programmes or somewhere small and friendly to train........you know where to find us!
