The Grand already has a long-standing historical connection with music, from Debussy stay at the hotel to compose La Mer through to the regular events with the London Mozart Players and the Pasadena Roof Orchestra.

We are thrilled to have teamed up with composer Damian and producer Stewart to host a range of events throughout the year as part of our 'Elite in Residence' programme.

Damian and Stewart have joined forces to compile the 'Walk of England' collection of works, celebrating the great British countryside through music and spoken word.

Their first album called 'In a South Downs Way' and was inspired by The South Downs, exploring the area's natural beauty and depicting the unspoiled landscapes of the national park. Composed in Damian's Sussex studio, actor Hugh Bonneville contributed to the album.

The duo has a follow-up album planned which also celebrates the South Downs, due for release in the autumn of 2019!

Meet them at our Ladies Lunch event on 16th September or...

Join us for a wonderful chamber ensemble performance on 3rd November with excerpts from the chart-topping album ‘In A South Downs Way’, as well as the first public performance of Damian’s new single ‘Sussexscape’ and other, yet to be released, new works.
