"A thoroughly enjoyable weekend musically and in every way"
Now in its seventeenth year, the London Mozart Players’ annual weekend at the Grand Hotel is a popular fixture in the hotel’s calendar. The 2019 weekend showcases the talents of the London Mozart Players in their 70th anniversary season.
Friday’s concert sees a selection of stylish chamber music gems including quintets from Beethoven, Gounod and Mozart – plus, as a bonus, the completion of an unfinished Mozart fragment of his Allegro in B-flat major. As a contrast, a sextet by Lennox Berkeley will provide a twentieth-century counterpoint.
With the LMP’s 70th birthday falling just ten days after the Eastbourne weekend, we have something special planned for Saturday. We’ll be replicating the larger size of orchestra from Mozart’s time – with a repertoire to match.
