Eastbourne Hotels needed - National Waiters Day Race

National Waiters' Day (16 May 2017) is back, and Eastbourne hotels and restaurants are being offered the chance to celebrate their front of house staff at the annual 'Race on the Lawns'.

Organised by the Grand Hotel, the race will see teams from Eastbourne's top hotels and restaurants competing to test their waiters' speed, agility and balance as the complete the relay-style race on the Western Lawns with trays of water-filled Champagne flutes.

Last year's Race on the Lawns saw teams from The Grand, The Lansdowne, The View, The Langham and Sussex Downs College taking part, and now organisers want to make the event even bigger and better by inviting all of Eastbourne's hotels and restaurants to enter a team.

National Waiters' Day  is organised by the Springboard Charity as part of its Front of House Festival, through which hospitality front of house roles are celebrated nationally.  The day aims to help change perceptions of front of house hospitality jobs and highlight the incredible hard work and dedication of staff.

Sarah Hoyle, personnel & development manager at The Grand said 'At The Grand we are firm believers in celebrating every member of staff and their contribution to our success as a hotel, and National Waiters' Day provides the perfect opportunity to put our front of house team in the limelight.  Lasy years' event was a great success, and we hope that this year even more hotels and restaurants will join in the fun'.

Any hotels and restaurants in Eastbourne wishing to take part in this year's National Waiters Day Race on the Lawns can contact Sarah Hoyle, shoyle@elitehotels.co.uk.  Entry is £20 per team which will go directly to the Springboard Charity, supporting its work helping young people and adults achieve their potential within the UK hospitality, leisure and tourism industry.
