Out & About

If you thought Eastbourne was a sleepy little town, you’re in for something of a surprise. Records show that Eastbourne is the sunniest place in the UK and attracts over 4 million people of all ages every year.

The big draws are the Blue Flag award-winning beach, the elegant Pier which is a classic of its kind, the dramatic cliffs at Beachy Head and the Seven Sisters, and the newly inaugurated South Downs National Park, which stretches for miles all the way into Hampshire, and which is dotted with charming villages and has mile after mile of walks and bicycle trails. Culture vultures have Glyndebourne and numerous historic houses to explore, local wineries whose reputations are spreading far and wide, and for the more active the Sovereign Harbour Marina offers all kinds of water sports, visits to all of which can be arranged for you through our Concierge. Tradition still holds sway in Eastbourne so you can still enjoy bandstand concerts and end of the pier style shows during the summer season, and there’s also a bustling nightlife centred around the bars and restaurants to be found at the Sovereign Harbour Marina and in the centre of town.
