Ace entertainment and fast paced fun this summer in Eastbourne

We love the summer. There's nothing quite like sauntering along Eastbourne's iconic promenade, looking out over the sea as the summer sun sets for the evening. Or, if you are looking for something a little more energetic, you'll also definitely find it in Eastbourne.

Eastbourne has a packed calendar of sporting events and at The Grand, we will provide you with the perfect base from which to enjoy them in ultimate luxury.  Whether you're a keen cyclist, a tennis titan or simply a passionate spectator, Eastbourne is the place to be for sports fans this summer season!

Kicking off proceedings will be the Eastbourne Cycling Festival from Friday 2 to Sunday 4 June.
Returning to our town for the 6th year in 2017, the fast paced event will include a variety of races suitable for all different ages and abilities - so there really is no excuse not to get involved.

On Saturday 3 June, runners, cyclers and swimmers will be descending on Eastbourne to take on the iconic but gruelling Eastbourne Triathlon
The race involves a 600m sea swim (we hope it's not too cold!) a 20km cycle and a 5km run finishing up right outside our front door at the Western Lawns.  The event is free to watch and if you're staying with us, you may even be able to see the athletes finishing the race from the comfort of your room.  If you're running the race, why not treat yourself to stay and a massage with us - after all you will definitely have earned it!

It's game, set and match at the end of June as the Aegon International Eastbourne Tennis Tournament takes to centre court.  Running from 23 June to 1 July, it's an exciting time for the tournament as the men will be re-joining the women for the first time in three years.  With the world's elite tennis stars - including Eastbourne's own Johanna Konta - descending upon Devonshire Park, this sporting event is not to be missed and tickets start from just £10.00 per person.

Thursday 17 to Sunday 20 August marks the 25th Anniversary of the Airbourne Eastbourne International Airshow.  Boasting a two-mile flying display along the seafront, the event was named the Tourism Event of the Year at the Beautiful South East Awards in 2015/16 and you can enjoy appearances from the Red Arrows, Typhoon and the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight.

There really is no end to the fun to be had in Eastbourne this summer and if you're choosing to enjoy the events in style by staying with us at The Grand, you can also enjoy our prime seafront location, full access to our tranquil (well maybe not over Airbourne!) outdoor heated pool and dedicated family dining times throughout the summer holidays.

Overnights stays start from just £107.50 per person, per night, including bed and breakfast.

So grab your racket, dust off your bike and start your training to enjoy a fantastic summer of sport in Eastbourne this year.
