Our Christmas Experience
Together, we celebrate Christmas. Enjoy a complete four-night festive experience at The Grand Hotel from the warm welcome on arrival, to the Gala dinner and dancing on Boxing Day, a time to look forward to and a time to remember with such fondness. All is planned for you, relax and treat yourself to traditional hospitality and service. The perfect setting for treating the whole family.
MONDAY 23RD DECEMBER
A very warm welcome.
Indulge in a light afternoon tea accompanied with entertainment provided by Shelley van Loen and the Palm Court Strings. Join us for a delightful glass of Champagne with the management team. For your first evening, a welcome dinner will be served in the Garden Restaurant followed by the foot tapping sounds of the Simon Goodwin Band.
For our younger guests
Room Service will deliver children a glass of warm milk and festive cookie before bedtime each evening.
CHRISTMAS EVE
TUESDAY 24TH DECEMBER
Experience a guided tasting led by our Cellar Master, where you can savour the splendid sparkling wines from Sussex.
Last minute Christmas shopping? We will be offering a mini bus service to and from the town centre until 1pm.
Enjoy the delicious tastes of Northern Europe with a Scandinavian themed Buffet Luncheon and a glass of Champagne or Sherry in our Garden Restaurant.
Gather your family and participate in our Family General Knowledge Quiz, all while enjoying light afternoon tea in the Lounges. The victorious team will be rewarded with a Fortnum & Mason hamper delivered to your doorstep after the Christmas festivities.
Come and join us in The Great Hall, where the St Mary's choir will enchant you with their carols, followed by a delightful serving of Champagne and canapés.
Enjoy a splendid three-course Christmas Eve Dinner in the Garden Restaurant followed by music from the Co-stars Band.
CHRISTMAS DAY
WEDNESDAY 25TH DECEMBER
After a leisurely Christmas day breakfast having opened your gift from Father Christmas, take a short walk along to the Bandstand where Christmas morning music will be delighting the crowd.
Return to the sound of seasonal jazz favourites from the Simon Goodwin Jazz Band in the Great Hall whilst you sip on a glass of Champagne or Sherry before a delightful Christmas Day Buffet Luncheon.
In the afternoon, all children are invited to attend the Grand’s children’s Christmas party where they will receive a very special visit from Father Christmas.
Relax in the lounges where homemade sandwiches and Christmas cake will be served, while our pianist ‘tinkles the ivories’. We’ll also be tuning in for King Charles III’s inaugural Christmas Day speech.
To wrap up the perfect Christmas Day, enjoy a glass of Champagne in the Drawing Room followed by a traditional four-course Christmas Dinner in the Garden Restaurant before finishing the night with music from the popular Simon Goodwin Band. This is a black-tie event.
BOXING DAY
TUESDAY 26TH DECEMBER
After breakfast, experience the bracing sea air and take a 10-minute stroll to the band stand for the Boxing Day morning concert or for the brave, how about a dip in the sea?
Return to savour a glass of Champagne or Sherry before treating yourself to the delightful Best of British Buffet Luncheon at the Garden Restaurant.
Families can delight in the Snow White pantomime at the adjacent Devonshire Park Theatre, where all children have reserved tickets. The family-friendly entertainment extends with a skilled caricaturist, as well as options for snooker, table tennis, board games, or the opportunity to pre-book at Eastbourne's fantastic Ice Rink.
Unwind in the lounges where you can enjoy a light afternoon tea.
Indulge in a little post-Christmas pampering at the Health Club where treatments are available for those who have booked in advance.
In the evening, enjoy a glass of Champagne with canapés followed by a Gala Dinner in the Garden Restaurant. Then enjoy live entertainment from the ‘Co-Stars Band’ in the Chatsworth Lounge.
This is a black-tie event.
THE CHRISTMAS EXPERIENCE DEPARTURE DAY (WEDNESDAY 27TH DECEMBER)
Following a hearty breakfast in the Garden Restaurant, we bid you a fond farewell. Alternatively, stay another night or two, you are very welcome to extend your visit.
