Set your creativity free to win a winter break at The Grand

Brisk walks in sunshine
With comfort and luxury
At The Grand Hotel

To celebrate the launch of our winter warmer breaks, we’re giving you the chance to use your creativity to win a two-night package – and all it takes is 17 syllables.

While Eastbourne is well-known for epitomising the classic English seaside summer holiday, the town has just as much to offer in the winter.

The town officially enjoys more hours of sunshine than anywhere else in the UK, providing ample opportunity to head out on a leisurely winter walk along the seafront or the cliffs and take in the magnificent coastal views. For those looking for something more invigorating, The South Downs Way takes you west from Eastbourne along the coast, past Beachy Head and towards Birling Gap and the iconic chalk cliffs of the Seven Sisters.

Visit in the winter months and you’ll also be following in the footsteps of the Victorian aristocracy, who chose to holiday in Eastbourne in winter to avoid the crowds who frequented the south coast in the summer.

The Grand is the perfect place to return to after a brisk winter walk, with a warm welcome, five-star facilities and delectable dining.

We’re offering the chance to win a winter warmer break, which includes two nights’ accommodation for two people sharing a double or twin room, including breakfasts and dinner on one evening in the Garden Restaurant, a bottle of Sauvignon Blanc in your room on arrival and a winter warmer platter when you return from exploring the local area.

All you have to do to enter is write a winter-themed Haiku – a simple three-line poem, with 17 syllables, like the one above.

Post your entry on The Grand’s Facebook page, on Twitter mentioning @grandeastbourne, or if you’re feeling arty you can post it on Instagram and tag @grandhoteleastbourne.

The competition is open until 22 December, and you can take your break at any time in January or February, subject to availability.
